This privacy statement applies to the website
The privacy statement describes how Sterner AS collects and processes personal information.
Sterner AS, through the general manager, is responsible for securing the company’s processing of personal data. The general manager is responsible for ensuring that all processing and handling of personal data takes place in accordance with current legislation.
This statement contains information about your rights when storing personal information through your customer relationship with Sterner AS, and information about how we process personal information in accordance with current privacy legislation.

Personal information
To complete a request on the online store we ask for company name, address, organisation number, contact person’s name, mobile number and e-mail. This is necessary for us to be able to send orders to the correct address, keep you updated regarding your request and be able to contact you if there should be a need in connection with your requests. We are required to store order information in connection with accounting and any warranty / return shipment. We delete this history after ten years. We also store the IP address used when ordering for security reasons. For various purposes, we may also need other personal information, this is described here in the privacy statement.

You have the right to access your personal information that Sterner AS has stored. You may at any time request to receive this information free of charge. You may also ask us to delete or change your personal information at any time, provided that we are not obliged to store this in accordance with current law or other obligations. You can withdraw the consent you have given us at any time. To change, delete or disclose information, contact us at You also have the right to complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority if you experience that your personal data is not processed in accordance with this declaration.

Storage of personal information
The Accounting Act requires us to store your transaction data for 5 years, but in order to safeguard our customers’ rights in connection with guarantees and complaints in accordance with the Consumer Purchases Act and the Purchases Act, we store purchase history from the online store for 10 years.

Security of personal information
Sterner AS has routines and measures to ensure that unauthorised persons do not gain access to your personal information, and that the processing of data takes place in accordance with the requirements of current legislation. Examples of such measures are servers located in secure locations with leading Norwegian suppliers, as well as frequent updating of software related to the online store. The online store works actively to secure your personal information.

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you download our website. These are usually used to improve user experience and remember who you are, so that you e.g. get a product added to the cart. Sterner AS collects anonymous information about visitors for analysis. By anonymous information we mean information that cannot be traced back to the user. We do this to collect statistics that can be used to further develop and improve the website. Examples of this are: number of visitors to the page, which pages are displayed, the duration of the visit, the users location and which browsers are used. We also collect keywords that are used via the search engines on the website. This is only to improve the search results and the customer experience.

The basis for e-mail marketing is consent. We and our advertising partners track ads to know which ads you have seen online and which products you have studied on our website. With this we can customise the ads to the customers interests, and display relevant ads to the customer . The general manager has the day-to-day responsibility for Sterner AS’s processing of personal data related to marketing, analysis and personalisation.

Personal information to third parties
Sterner AS will never share, sell, transfer or otherwise disclose your personal information in other ways than described in this statement. Your data will only be shared if we are legally obliged or after we get your consent. Collaborators will only have access to the information if this is necessary to perform services for Sterner AS. In such cases, data processor agreements are made to ensure information security.
