All Sterner Offices are Now Eco-Lighthouse Certified

Sterner has achieved Eco-Lighthouse certification at all four of its offices: Bergen, Leknes, Ski, and Porsgrunn. This certification marks an important milestone in our dedicated efforts to implement more sustainable operational practices and demonstrates our commitment to the environment, climate, and social responsibility – both locally and nationally.

Local Commitment – National Standard

Eco-Lighthouse (Miljøfyrtårn) is a well-recognized Norwegian certification scheme that sets specific requirements for environmental efforts in businesses. For Sterner, this is not just about meeting standards – it’s about committing to continuous improvement and real implementation.

«For us, this is not just a piece of paper – it’s a tool to help us become even better, both as an employer and as a supplier», says CEO Stian Johnsen.

Grand Celebrations in Bergen and Porsgrunn

In Porsgrunn, the certification was marked with a festive and distinguished visit from Mayor Janicke Andreassen, Deputy Mayor Stine Stamland, and Business Development Manager Øyvind Solbakken. The presentation took place on May 20, 2025, and allowed for a professional exchange about our work with sustainable water and wastewater solutions, industry, and aquaculture.

«It is a great pleasure to present the Eco-Lighthouse certificate to a local business that combines strong professional expertise with a solid local presence», said Mayor Andreassen during the visit.

In Bergen, the certification was formally celebrated with a ceremony at City Hall, led by Mayor Marit Warncke. We extend a big thank-you to the City of Bergen for a dignified and inspiring event that gave us renewed motivation to continue our important work with sustainability and environmental responsibility.

All of Sterner is Part of the Green Transition

The certification also includes our offices in Ski and Leknes. This means the entire organization is now committed to more systematic environmental work – including waste management, energy efficiency, resource use, and workplace environment.

«We are proud that all four of our offices are now Eco-Lighthouse certified. It shows that we take responsibility across the entire company – both for what we deliver to our customers and for how we run the business internally», says Johnsen.

Strong Expertise with Sustainability at the Core

Sterner delivers technology for clean water and sustainable food production and works every day to provide solutions that contribute to reduced emissions, better resource utilization, and improved energy efficiency. We have offices in Ski, Porsgrunn, Bergen, and Leknes, as well as a strong service network supporting facilities throughout the country.

Our vision is clear: We aim to deliver technology for clean water and sustainable food production – for future generations.

Eco-Lighthouse certification is one of several initiatives we have taken to turn this vision into reality.
